In collaboration with the Foundation for Advancement in Conservation (FAIC), IPI arranged to host two workshops on advanced inkjet preservation in conjunction with our 2020 Vision symposium in October. These workshops are part of the Collaborative Workshops in Photograph Conservation series and will be co-taught by Daniel Burge, Senior Research Scientist at IPI and Ryan Boatright, Founder and Owner, Atelier Boba. Applications are currently being accepted, and FAIC and IPI will assess in June how best to proceed with workshop planning prior to notifications being made to applicants.
The Foundation for Advancement in Conservation (FAIC) has been awarded a three-year cooperative agreement totaling $500,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to evaluate current national infrastructure in conservation and make recommendations to strengthen preservation of cultural heritage for present and future generations.
Our 2020 series of Environmental Data Analysis webinars has been rescheduled. This series of three webinars will teach participants how to analyze and interpret meaning from environmental data, and respond to data interpretation by creating appropriate action plans.
IPI celebrates its 35th year of preservation research in 2020! In November 2019, we sent out a survey focused on perceptions of IPI, engagement preferences, research needs, IPI products and services, and philanthropic interests.
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded RIT $165,000 in funding to support assessment initiatives that will inform and strengthen short- and long-term research goals and institutional planning at IPI.
