Work With Us

IPI offers a range of remote and onsite preservation consulting services based on 35+ years of applied research - from environmental monitoring and data analysis, to mechanical system design consultation, analysis, and optimization.

Environmental Management Services

Sustainability and Resilience Services

Implement energy-saving strategies that maintain or improve the preservation quality of collection spaces. Conduct testing to identify optimal approach for a unique collection, space, and/or mechanical system.

Mechanical System Analysis and Optimization

Evaluate mechanical system performance and identify possible improvements or adjustments that could be applied with minimal or no capital investment.

Mechanical System Design Consultation

Ensure that resources invested in mechanical system upgrades for collections will provide the desired preservation environment and are sustainable over time.

Preservation Commissioning

Evaluate whether or not a mechanical system(s) is working according to design specifications, and set realistic and sustainable goals for HVAC operation and long-term collection preservation.

Data Analysis

Evaluate storage environments and their effects on collections in order to prioritize preservation needs. Provide recommendations to improve conditions in support of long-term preservation.

Film Storage Assessment

Examine the quality of the storage environment for acetate and nitrate film collections in various stages of condition and makes recommendations for improving long-term preservation.

We partner with museums, libraries, and archives of all sizes to achieve short-term and long-term preservation environment and sustainability goals.

We are using the recommendations to apply for an additional grant. Having IPI consultants visit was so helpful at understanding our systems better, but also in communicating with one another internally. I wouldn't hesitate to work with either of them again.
IPI reports help compile our record of environmental work. The IPI staff have considerable skill in documenting the many details of mechanical systems and meetings.
The IPI team has been consistently helpful, knowledgeable, engaged and open. The methodology they used to identify and isolate the problem areas had quite obviously been developed over time by IPI.
